Hierarchy Structure

A Dreamgallery™ portal is not just one portal; it is an unlimited number of "portal nodes", together forming a hierarchical structure. The node hierarchy can be defined based on IP addresses, postal codes, network owners, landlords or other customer database records, making it possible to present different portals to different customers.

Menu and Icon Structure

You can also structure your TV portal by deciding upon the different menus and icons you want for your portal and where in the portal structure you want to position them.

Service Types - Presentation or Dynamic Display Object

You decide how you want your TV portal to work by assigning a service type to each icon in your portal structure. Each service type is represented by either texts and pictures edited by you along with a certain behavior (Presentation), or completely dynamic information/behavior gathered from any external source (Dynamic Display Object).

Presentation and Behaviors

A presentation consists of texts and pictures edited by you. If you want to assign a presentation to an icon, you must also choose what will happen when the end user presses the OK button on the remote control, what we refer to as "Behavior". A behavior can be a menu category, VOD movie, radio channel, TV channel, URL, etcetera.

Dynamic Display Objects

A Dynamic Display Object is a form of intelligent, customized presentation that gives unlimited flexibility in creating interactive applications. It is downloaded to your customer's Set Top Box when he or she highlights a particular icon in the portal, and can display any dynamic information from the Dreamgallery™ database or from an external source such as an Internet service.

Skins and Templates

You can fully customize the way your TV portal will be presented to your customers graphically by the use of different skins and templates designed by Dreampark's professional designers. Each node in the hierarchy structure as well as each portal category can have its own skin, enabling you to create a different look and feel for different parts of the portal.

Furthermore, each icon in the TV portal can be assigned a server side Flash template to produce fully customized presentations. You simply select any of the available templates, upload pictures and enter texts directly into the template. The Dreamgallery™ Portal Generator will create JPEG pictures out of your composition.

The Portal Generator is provided with a comprehensive WYSIWYG graphical editor, which means that what you see on the screen when managing your portal, is also what will be seen by the end users.
